Zuma Threatens Daughter Duduzile With Mk Party Membership Termination

uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party leader Jacob Zuma has threatened to terminate his daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudlas party membership is she does not apologise for her recent social media posts.

On Monday 11 February, Zuma-Sambudla went on a tirade on X against MK Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu. Floyd I'm Not Scared Of YOU!!! Tell Your Minions To F OFF - Bldy Mafikizolo's, she wrote in one of her posts.

Worst thing that happened to MK, she wrote in another post referencing Shivambu. They Will Expel Me Tomorrow-It Is Well With My Soul. OKSALAYO FLOYD IS USELESS!!! she said in a third one.

Zuma asks Duduzile to apologise

In a statement issued by Zuma in the early hours of Tuesday, MK Party referred to Zuma-Sambudlas posts as insulting towards Shivambu, constituting a direct violation of the Partys Disciplinary Code of Conduct.

Such actions are unacceptable, divisive, denigrating and offensive. They undermine the principles of unity, respect and discipline that are fundamental to the values of uMkhonto weSizwe Party, it added.

Zuma then directed his daughter to issue an unconditional public apology to him, Shivambu, members and supporters of MK Party, and all the people of South Africa.

She must also extend formal apologies to all structures she serves in or leads, including the Southern Caucus of the Pan-African Parliament, the party said.

These apologies must be made immediately. Following this, an internal disciplinary process will be initiated in accordance with the uMkhonto weSizwe Party Constitution, Code of Conduct and all relevant prescripts.

Failure to comply with this directive will result in immediate consequences, including the summary termination of Commander Duduzile Zumas membership in uMkhonto weSizwe Party and her recall from all Party responsibilities.

MK Party factionalism

The latest internal developments in MK Party suggest that it is grappling with emerging factionalism. Zuma-Sambudlas posts indicate that she could be leading a faction aggrieved with Shivambu and others who joined the party after the 2024 elections.
