The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed deep disappointment over the recent defection of Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gummi from the party to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The party said that the decision was not only a betrayal of the PDP, but also a betrayal of the trust placed in him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum, who elected him under the partys banner.
This was contained in a statement issued by the partys publicity secretary in the State, Andi Haliru and made available to newsmen in Gusau.
The statement added that Hon. Gummi's defection came without any internal crisis, highlighting a lack of commitment to the ideals and values that the PDP stands for.
We firmly believe that his actions undermine the democratic process and the mandate entrusted to him by the constituents.
