zambian coffee takes off with proflight

Proflight Zambia has partnered with Kasama Coffee to serve 100 Zambian-grown coffee on its flights. The coffee, cultivated at Kansato Farms in Kasama, will be available on select routes with plans for a full rollout across the airlines network.

This initiative aligns with Proflight Zambias commitment to responsible tourism and local economic development. The airlines Director of Flight Operations, Josias Walubita , emphasised the importance of such collaborations.

As Zambias leading airline, we are committed to uplifting local businesses and showcasing the best of Zambia to the world, Walubita said. Kasama Coffee isnt just any coffee it represents sustainability, community impact and Zambian innovation.

Kasama Coffees operations focus on job creation and sustainability. Founder Luke Powell explained that the farm prioritises manual labour over mechanisation to provide employment opportunities.

We dont use tractors or mechanical machinery where we can avoid it we create jobs to put food on plates, Powell said. From planting to harvesting, everything is done by hand, supporting over 50 full-time workers and hundreds more during harvest season.
