The preliminary second round of the CAF Confederation Cup is when the big hitters start making an appearance, with defending champions Zamalek and 2023-24 losing finalists RS Berkane amongst the teams looking to progress to the group stages.
Zamalek, who won their second title last season, kick off their 2024-25 challenge against Administration Police in the first leg at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday.
RS Berkane have enjoyed some success in the competition in recent years after being crowned champions in 2020 and 2022, while they also contested the 2019 and 2024 finals.
The Oranges Boys will be looking to clear the first hurdle when they face Dadje at the Stade de IAmitie on Saturday, which also sees 2023 winners USM Alger take on Stade Tunisien at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium.
The Union caused controversy last season after a political dispute over shirts led to RS Berkane being handed a walkover in the semi-finals, with two matches having been postponed.
