yosa denied elite one championship license for 20242025 season

Yong Sports Academy has been denied the national club license required to participate in the Elite One Championship for the 2024-2025 season.

The FECAFOOT Licensing Commission, in a decision dated September 6, 2024, cited non-compliance with Article 51 of the club licensing regulations. This article mandates that clubs must provide proof of no outstanding arrears to current or former employees.

The crux of YOSAs predicament lies in a long-standing dispute dating back to 2016 with former player Talla Kayo Aime Bosco.

The club was ordered by the national syndicate of Cameroon footballers (SYNAFOC? to pay Talla Kayo a total of 500,000 FCFA, comprising 300,000 FCFA in unpaid bonuses and 200,000 FCFA in damages. However, YOSA has failed to furnish proof of payment, leading to their license denial.

The north west outfit now faces a race against time, with just five days to lodge an appeal against this decision.
