Wynberg Court Tightens Security After Shooting

A murder suspect was executed inside the Wynberg Magistrate's Court this week in a brutal hit that has once again exposed shocking gaps in the justice system's security measures.

The shooter not only got into the building armed, but managed to escape without being stopped , raising serious concerns about how such a high-profile killing could happen inside a state facility.

Authorities now admit that the court's metal detectors weren't working at the time of the incident, leaving everyone from court officials to members of the public vulnerable.

Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has promised a major overhaul, calling for an urgent investigation and a nationwide court security review.

'This isn't just a Wynberg problem anymore. We have to take a hard look at how we're protecting our courts, especially those handling dangerous criminal cases,' she said.
