Women Inspire My Music Wizkid
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, recently revealed that women serve as the primary inspiration behind his music. In a post on X formerly Twitter, the Afrobeats star shared his admiration for women, writing, "Women inspire music! Gods on earth." Although the post has since been deleted, it reflects Wizkid's ongoing connection to women as a central theme in his musical career.
Wizkid is renowned for his romantic songs, many of which are dedicated to women. His latest album, Morayo, holds special personal significance as it is dedicated to his late mother, Morayo Jane Balogun. The album has already made waves in the music industry, achieving a major milestone by breaking the Spotify record for the most first-week streams for an African album. In just six days, Morayo amassed a total of 48 million streams, surpassing the previous record held by Tyla.
