A 52-year-old woman, accused of assaulting her disabled partner with his own walking stick, appeared in the Kuils River Magistrates Court, Cape {town} Etc report.
The incident was recorded on video, showing the woman hitting the 56-year-old man on his head and body while he was lying on the ground.
The victim, who has been paralysed on one side of his body since a 2006 car accident, was initially hesitant to report the abuse.
According to his niece, Zizipho Nkunzana, the video revealed a disturbing side of their relationship.
'When we saw the video, we were shocked. It's bad,' Nkunzana stated.
