Woman Dies After Falling From Kimberley Hospital Balcony

The Northern Cape Department of Health says it will cooperate with police after a 22-year-old woman who had just given birth fell to her death from the fifth-floor balcony of the Robert Mangaliso Hospital in Kimberley.

It is still not clear whether the woman committed suicide or was pushed. But police have confirmed that they have opened an inquest.

Provincial Health spokesperson Lebohang Majaha says the clinical staff who were available during the incident will receive counseling.
