The South African Weather Service SAWS has issued a warning for a cold front expected to hit the western and central parts of the country on Sunday.
In a statement, the SAWS says the cold front will move to the eastern parts on Monday.
The Weather Service says the southern and western high ground will experience disruptive snowfall, damaging winds over the interior and coastline, high seas along the coastal areas and very cold conditions over a significant part of the country.
It adds that heavy rainfall is also expected over the western parts of the Western Cape, where flooding is likely.
