The chairmanship candidate on the platform of the National Rescue Mission NRM in Zamfara State, Hon. Ahmad Bello Babangida, has given reasons his party decided to participate in the states local government election.
He said that NRM is a party that respects the laws of the land, adding that he did not join the local government race for fun but to make a point that NRM members are very obedient people.
Fielding questions from newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, Babangida said that he was very optimistic that he would run away with victory at the upcoming local government election in the state.
Election is not all about incumbency, but a game of numbers. Former Governor Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi was in office as PDP Governor when he lost the governorship election to Abdulaziz Yari of the defunct All Nigerian Peoples Party ANPP.
According to him, the number one opposition party in the state, All Progressives Congress APC, is making a very big mistake by boycotting the local government election in the state for the fear that justice will be miscarried.
