Why I Snubbed Calvin Bassey Alan Shearer Apologizes

Former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer, has publicly apologized to Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey, after he picked Bruno Fernandes as the Man of the Match, as Fulham eliminated Manchester United from the FA Cup on Sunday.

Bassey opened the scoring for the Cottagers and was an impressive presence in defence for his team.

The 25-year-old's performance against United was one that would be remembered for ages.

Fulham went on to win 4-3 on penalties, after Fernandes equalized for the hosts.

Shearer gave the man of the match award to Fernandes, and that didn't go down well with Bassey.
