Social media is flooding with messages of condolences as industry mates, fans and followers pay tribute to the late gospel singer Solly Moholo, known for his hits like Moruti Nthapelele, who died after battling with a stroke.

This comes after the family of the veteran singer took to social media to announce his death .

Dear Solly Moholo Fans, it is with great sadness that we are informing you on behalf of the Molokoane family, that is Solly Moholo's family, that our beloved legend 'Solly Moholo' has sadly passed on, reads the statement.

He passed on October 2, whilst in hospital. Solly Moholo was hospitalised after falling ill following his pre album launch tour in Botswana.

The family has asked for privacy as they mourn the passing of the veteran gospel artist.
