Wced Responds To Teacher's Unfair Dismissal Allegations

The Western Cape Education Department WCED has firmly rejected claims made by Kelly Manus, a former teacher at Symphony High School, accusing the department of unfair dismissal and mishandling her sexual harassment case, Cape town Etc reports.

The allegations, made in a TikTok video posted earlier this week, have sparked significant public attention.

According to Manus, the dismissal stemmed from a sexual harassment complaint she filed against a fellow educator, who also happens to be the principals husband.

Manus alleged that the principal took retaliatory action, preventing her from transitioning from a temporary contract to a permanent teaching position after she reported the inappropriate conduct.

In response to the serious claims, the WCED issued a detailed statement, emphasising that Manus' accusations were not based on factual events.
