Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an incident that occurred yesterday in Athlone.
The disturbance involved two armed men, who, after engaging in an altercation, fled the scene in a Toyota Quantum, reports Cape {town} Etc .
SAPS had been notified of the altercation via a civilian complaint which had been lodged and members quickly closed off all potential escape routes in the area.
The vehicle was then spotted driving hastily towards the main road.
A high-speed chase between the two men and SAPS then ensued and police members eventually managed to halt the vehicle on Jan Smuts Drive.
