The Super Eagles star, who joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli, had a significant impact on the game despite the setback.
Osimhen, eager to make his mark, was quick to threaten the oppositions defence. Within just 20 seconds, he had Galatasaray's first chance, but his header went wide.
The match remained goalless until the 48th minute when Osimhen played a pivotal role in breaking the deadlock.
Connecting with a Dries Mertens corner, Osimhen's powerful header seemed destined for the bottom corner, but Ghanaian defender Rahman Baba was in place to block it.
