Watch Benni Mccarthy Open To Coaching Kaizer Chiefs Or Orlando Pirates Amid Global Job Hunt
South African football legend Benni McCarthy has expressed that he remains open to the possibility of managing either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, two of the biggest clubs in Soweto.
From 2017 to 2022, McCarthy served as head coach for Cape Town City and AmaZulu in South Africa's top-flight football. During that time, he was frequently linked with both Soweto giants and the Bafana Bafana coaching job, but was never appointed to either role.
After being dismissed by AmaZulu in 2022, McCarthy joined Manchester United as part of Erik ten Hag's backroom staff. During his two seasons at Old Trafford, he helped the club win the League Cup and FA Cup before leaving when his contract expired.
Now actively seeking a new managerial position, McCarthys name has also been mentioned in connection with Mamelodi Sundowns. However, earlier this week, he revealed that he had interviewed with three Major League Soccer teams in the United States.
In an interview with Robert Marawa, McCarthy reflected on the numerous occasions when he could have been appointed as manager of one of the Soweto giants.
