Wamba who shared a close relationship with Nguemo though not of the same generation started and lasted the duration of the final tormenting the MC Alger defense though Mohammed Ali made the difference by scoring the only goal a few minutes before the halftime pause. The game was somewhat a salvation for CR Belouzidad as they endured a difficult season, losing the domestic championship which they won in each of the last two seasons and also failed to have a good run in the CAF Champions League. Wamba is expected to return home for a short break and be a part of the funeral program of Nguemo at some point in time though its unclear if he will stay in Cameroon till the first weeks of August when the mortal remains of Nguemo will be laid to rest in their native Dschang in the West Region of Cameroon.
