visa issues prevents nigerian striker from joining aberdeen teammates in portugues preseason camp

New Aberdeen signing, Peter Ambrose, will be unable to join his teammates for their pre-season campaign in Portugal due to visa issues, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old Nigerian striker joins the Scottish side on a free transfer after spending the last year in Hungary with ujpest FC where he scored 12 goals in 60 games across all competitions.

As per UK outlet, Press and Journal , Aberdeen had to leave the 1.84m tall striker behind from their pre-season training camp in Portugal. Visa issues have prevented the summer signing from joining his new team-mates in making the trip and the Nigerian forward will continue training at Cormack Park where he will spend the week with coach Scott Anderson and the under-18 squad.

Despite being without Ambrose, Aberdeens new coach, Jimmy Thelin is determined to keep the forward involved to monitor his progress before the SPFL season officially kicks off.

In the meantime, the coach is planning with the players that are available for selection, including those who featured for the national side after the 2023/2024 season officially ended.
