The United States led the medal count at the just concluded 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday, securing a total of 126 medals, including 40 gold and 44 silver.
They narrowly surpassed China, who also won 40 gold but had fewer silver medals, with a total of 91 medals.
The U.S. achieved this success primarily through swimming and track events, contributing 28 and 34 medals, respectively.
Meanwhile, China excelled in diving, shooting, table tennis, and wrestling.
France, the host nation, performed exceptionally well, winning 64 medals, including 16 gold, marking their best performance in over a century.
