unlimited fibre to underserved communities for less than r350 per day

Following a successful pilot in Alexandra in 2023, Vuma, a Maziv company, has officially launched its Vuma Key product South Africas most affordable uncapped fibre service priced at just R99 per month.

Vuma Key is a prepaid service with no penalties for missed recharges, designed specifically for low-income households earning less than R5 000 per month.

At R99 per month, this price is equivalent to R3.30 per day or less than 83c per device per day (based on an average of 30 days per month and four devices per household). Based on similar competing offerings at the time of launch, Vuma Key is 34% cheaper than the closest competitor. While some competitors advertise a R99 price point, these are based on a seven-day recharge whereas Vuma Key offers uninterrupted service for 30 days.

The offering has been in pilot phase in selected Alexandra and Kayamandi households. It embodies Vumas mission to bridge the digital divide by introducing an innovative deployment strategy of fibre connectivity to South Africas most underserved, high-density communities.

Vuma Key has been designed specifically for communities that have traditionally been beyond the reach of high-speed, high-volume uncapped internet, says Dietlof Mare, CEO of Maziv, Vumas parent company. Vuma Key is now available in Alexandra wards 75, 76, 107, 108 and 116 as well as all wards of Kayamandi.
