An unidentified disease claimed the lives of 143 people in the southwest province of the Democratic Republic of Congo in November, local authorities reported to Reuters. Those infected exhibited flu-like symptoms, including high fever and severe headaches, according to Remy Saki, the deputy governor of Kwango province, and Apollinaire Yumba, the provincial health minister, who spoke to the media on Monday.
