United Airlines announced a series of leadership changes across its team in Africa, effective on August 1, to enhance and expand its operations across the continent.

Amit Badiani has been named Head of Africa and Offline Sales. In this role, Badiani will oversee Uniteds entire African operations in South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana, as well as Morocco from October.

Thorsten Lettnin , Director of Sales for Continental Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Israel, and India at United Airlines, praised Badiani for his 19 years of aviation experience. Badianis leadership will further build on Uniteds close partnerships with key trade and airline partners as the airline expands to four countries across Africa.

Oluwatomi Bola-Sadipes role as Country Sales Manager for Nigeria and Ghana has now been expanded to include South Africa. She will continue to manage the airline's sales efforts across these key markets.

In South Africa, Penny Alexandrou has been appointed as Uniteds General Manager in Johannesburg. She will be responsible for the airlines operations at OR Tambo International Airport.
