Belgium giants Union Saint-Gilloise are closing on sealing a transfer for young forward Promise Oluwatobi Akinpelu David, Soccernet.ng reports .
Born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Akinpelu David has enjoyed a journeyman career since leaving TFC Academy to join Vaughan Azzurri in 2016.
The 22-year-old centre-forward has had stints in Croatia, the United States, and Malta before moving to Estonia to sign for Kalju FC in February 2023.
It has, however, been an exceptional 2024 for David as the Nigeria-Canadian forward has smashed 14 goals and three assists in 16 appearances in the Premium Liiga.
And according to transfer guru Sacha Tavolieri , David has done enough to attract the attention of Union SG with the Belgian side set to complete the signing of the former NK Trnje Zagreb star.
