Two People Die Following Heavy Rains In Kzn

The eThekwini Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed that two people lost their lives following heavy rainfall over the weekend in the Nkanini Informal Settlement in Cato Manor, west of Durban.

A 38-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman tragically died when a retaining wall collapsed onto their shack on Sunday.

Municipal spokesperson Gugu Sisilana has stated that no other injuries have been reported from the incident.

In response, the municipalitys disaster management and emergency services teams acted quickly, working through the night to rescue those trapped by the collapse and assist the affected residents.
