Tut Student's Family Demands Justice After Tragic Death

The family of Oratile Mothwa, a 21-year-old second-year journalism student at Tshwane University of Technology TUT, is reeling in shock after his tragic and suspicious death.

Mothwa was reported missing on March 6, only for his body to be discovered six weeks later at a state mortuary on Tuesday.

The family believes he may have been kidnapped and murdered before his body was deliberately placed on a road in Silverton to stage a hit-and-run accident.

Mothwa will be laid to rest in Seabe, outside Hammanskraal, on Sunday.

We opened a missing case and police began their investigation. Tragically, our search ended when we discovered that he was taken to the Steve Biko Hospital Mortuary. Shockingly, he was identified by his student card. But despite this, no one reached out to the family to inform us about his whereabouts. The hospital told us that they informed the university. They wrote an email to the university letting them know, says grieving relative Letlhogonolo Maako.
