Tshwane Metro Police Officer Shot And Killed On Christmas Eve
The Tshwane Metro Police Department TMPD is mourning the tragic loss of one of its officers, who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve at her home in Lotus Gardens, Pretoria West. The suspect, believed to be her partner, reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
According to TMPD spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, the officer was killed on the evening of December 24. It was later established that the suspect fled the scene in the victims vehicle, heading towards Limpopo, where he was apprehended by authorities.
The exact details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting are still unclear, and the South African Police Service SAPS is currently investigating the case, Mahamba said.
Due to ongoing investigations, the identity of the deceased officer has not been released at this time. The TMPD is awaiting formal notification to the family and relatives before disclosing further details.
