Nine men TS Galaxy have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout Cup, after beating Chippa United in the first-round match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday.
Fans were expecting plenty of goals after what happened in Saturdays first-round matches across the country. But both teams played cautious soccer in the first half, with very little goalmouth action.
The opposing goalkeepers had very little to do in the first half. The Galaxy had more possession but were unable to capitalise on it.
Chippa defender Justice Chabalala did well to deny the visitors a promising move.
The home team had another half chance, but Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was untroubled.
