Trump Cuts Sa Aid, Plans To Resettle Afrikaners In Us

President Donald Trump has frozen US aid to South Africa, citing a law he claims permits land seizures from white farmers, despite the South African governments denials.

In an executive order, Trump alleged the law enables the confiscation of Afrikaner-owned farmland without compensation and pledged US support for resettling affected farmers.

He said that the United States would promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination.

The United States cannot support the government of South Africa's commission of rights violations in its country or its undermining United States foreign policy, which poses national security threats to our nation, our allies, our African partners, and our interests, the order read.

The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take appropriate steps, consistent with law, to prioritise humanitarian relief, including admission and resettlement through the United States Refugee Admissions Programme, for Afrikaners in South Africa who are victims of unjust racial discrimination.
