Tributes continue to pour in for former Judge Willem Heath. He died in Cape Town at the age of 79 .

Heath served as the head of the SIU until 2001.

He was appointed to head the Heath Commission of Inquiry into maladministration and corruption in the Eastern Cape in 1995.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent his condolences to the Heath family.

"Judge Willem Heath will be remembered for his leadership of the commission of inquiry into corruption fraud and maladministration in the Eastern Cape from 1995 to 1997. One of the outcomes of the commission was the establishment by President Nelson Mandela of the Special Investigating Unit SIU as an independent agency of government that investigates corruption and maladministration into state institutions," says Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.
