Transport Dept Working On Challenges At Airports In Eastern Cape

The National Department of Transport says its dealing with challenges relating to the landing of aircraft at Eastern Cape airports.

A five-day meeting is being held in East London by the department to discuss safety issues and maintaining international standards in the aviation industry.

Delegates from 44 African countries are attending.

The Mthatha and King Phalo Airports have recently been experiencing landing difficulties due to air navigation issues, resulting in flight delays and cancellations.

The Departments Director-General James Mlawu says these issues are receiving attention.
