transnet infrastructure damage is economic sabotage masemola

National Police Commissioner, Lt Gen. Fannie Masemola says damage to Transnet infrastructure constitutes economic sabotage.

He says this is because Transnet pipelines service an annual average of 16 billion litres of liquid fuel, and more than 450 million cubic metres of gas at about 250 valves, which transverses five provinces including KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West.

Masemola was speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the police and Transnet to foster partnership, and collaborate in addressing high levels of crime associated with Transnets network infrastructure.
