Spanish La Liga club Las Palmas are mulling over a move for Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar during the winter transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

It has been a torrid past two years for Nigeria striker Umar, as his career has suffered a serious lull. The 27-year-old striker joined Real Sociedad from Almeria for a club-record 20 million.

Umar had been in great form at Almeria, and he was expected to take that to help the Txuri-Urdin. He did hit the ground running, as he scored on his debut. But unfortunately for him, he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury that ruled him out of action for over a year.

Upon his return last season, he was not the same player. Umar struggled to hit the ground running and eventually became a fringe player at Real Sociedad.

There were strong talks that the Nigerian was close to exiting Real Sociedad during the summer transfer window. However, nothing concrete emerged from those talks.
