Respected Daily Telegraphs football news correspondent, Matt Law has explained the reason behind Chelseas failure to meet the demands of Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to London Is Blue Podcast via Football Transfers, Law said:
For me, they [Chelsea] cant go out and pay him [ Osimhen] £ 300,000 a week because that is going to cause massive issues when youve just given Cole Palmer an uplift that is nowhere near that really, Law explained.
It would have been risky. You could easily have had another Lukaku situation.
Chelsea was keen on bringing the Nigerian striker to Stamford Bridge from Napoli.
