Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ahli, has opened up on why their move for Real Madrids superstar Vinicius Junior did not materialise.
Al-Ahli chief, Khaled Al-Issa, confirmed that the club tried to bring in Vinicius Jr. in the summer transfer window.
DAILY POST reported that Al-Ahli offered Vinicius 24, the highest deal in the history of football after they allowed their winger Allan Saint-Maximin join Fenerbahce on loan.
Al-Issa explained that the club had to shift their priorities towards signing a No.9 as Saudi Arabian striker Firas Al-Buraikan was supposed to leave the club.
As a result, Al-Ahli turned their attention towards Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Brentfords Ivan Toney.
