The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Film Authority, a statutory body responsible for promoting, marketing, and developing tourism and film in KwaZulu-Natal, is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Independent Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee .

Position Overview:

The Audit and Risk Committee, as established by the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority Act 02 of 2024, seeks to appoint an independent Chairperson. The committee will meet at least four 4 times per year or more frequently, depending on the operational needs of the organization. The successful candidate will be offered a three 3 year performance-based contract.

Requirements:
  • Educational Qualification: NQF level 8 relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Experience: Minimum of five 5 years experience in senior management roles in any of the following fields:
    • Accounting
    • Auditing
    • Financial Management
    • Risk Management or related fields
  • The candidate should be in good standing with the relevant professional bodies SAICA, IIA, IRBA, etc..
  • Membership with IODSA will be considered an advantage.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Extensive knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act PFMA and Treasury regulations
  • Experience in processing Annual Financial Statements under IFRS and GRAAP
  • Proficiency in audit methodologies , financial management , governance principles , risk management , and compliance frameworks
  • Proven experience in serving on an Audit , Risk , or Compliance Board Committee
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of audit and risk strategies
  • Review and recommend policies to the Board
  • Provide oversight on governance and compliance
  • Oversee internal audit quality assurance
  • Provide oversight on the financial management of the organization
