A private funeral service for former Finance Minister Tito Mboweni is under way at the Roman Catholic Church in Haenertsburg outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.
The service is being attended by family members as well as politicians.
The private service will be followed by a public funeral service at the Nkowankowa stadium later this morning.
Mboweni will be laid to rest at a cemetery at Bordeaux village outside Tzaneen.
Family spokesperson Stanley Mboweni says, There is going to be a private service for two hours and then from Heanertsburg, we are going to Nkowankowa stadium where the service is going to start at 10h00 and we want to thank the villagers here who have been with us throughout the week.
