Three suspects have been arrested in Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, in connection with the killing of 18 people in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape last month.

This brings to four the number of suspects arrested for the attack. Yesterday, Siphosoxolo Myekethe abandoned his bail application in the Lusikisiki Magistrates Court.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says police received a tip-off from community members in the Mkholombe informal settlement.

He says they recognised the suspects from the photographs that police have been circulating.

Police received a tip-off from a community member that the wanted suspects were hiding at a rented accommodation in uMkholombe informal settlement in Port Shepstone. A swift operation was put in motion and the three suspects aged 22, 24 and 31 years old were arrested.
