Three boys have been found dead in a house they were sleeping in at Ga-Mothiba village outside Polokwane in Limpopo.

Provincial police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says it is alleged that the deceased slept with a braai stand with fire-coals to warm themselves at night.

Ledwaba says their lifeless bodies were discovered by family members.

On Friday, 05 July 2024, at around 05h00, their family realised that they boys were motionless. They immediately activated the police and EMS personnel. The boys were certified dead at the scene.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warned the community against putting brazier in the household, rooms, or sleeping spaces during this chilling winter season. She further pointed out that the inhaling of the brazier and other related fires has proven to be a dangerous practice, adds Ledwaba.
