Three Arrested In Connection With Dagga Cultivation In Atlantis
Three foreign nationals have been arrested in Atlantis on the West Coast for cultivating dagga on a farm and for the illegal possession of a shotgun and ammunition.
Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk says the suspects had a substantial amount of dried out dagga concealed in different packaging in their possession.
"Members proceeded to a premises in Kleindassenberg, Atlantis after receiving information of dagga being cultivated on a farm. Upon arrival at the mentioned premises, members ensued with a search during which they discovered a variety of dagga plants being cultivated on the premises. Three suspects aged 31, 46 and 60 were arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of dagga."
He further said the men are due to appear in the Atlantis Magistrates court once charged.
