The main road in Thohoyandou, in Limpopo, has been temporarily closed following a multiple-car crash.
Traffic spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says emergency personnel are at the scene and it is not yet clear if there have been fatalities.
Chuenu is urging motorists to use alternative routes.
