Finance Deputy Minister David Masondo says there is a serious need for the country to attract foreign direct investment in order to address economic growth.

Masondo was one of the panelists at the Africa Markets Conference in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape.

He told the delegates that part of the economic challenges facing the country relate to low investments and the failure attract of foreign capital inflows into the domestic market.

"I think you are right. Our investments demands are very high. Given our low domestic savings, notwithstanding the debt levels that we have in South Africa, it is also important for us to also attract foreign capital to flow into South Africa, says Masondo.
