Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, has raised uncertainty over the return of Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface, from injury, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Union SG forward sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria and has since been sidelined from the squad.

Although initially expected to return to action in early January, his rehabilitation is far from complete, which makes him doubtful for Leverkusens clash against Mainz.
