The Ford Tourneo has made its debut in true style, showcasing its multifunctional capabilities during a weekend road trip along Cape Towns West Coast, Cape town Etc reports.
Whether its a weekend family getaway or a stylish shuttle for executives, the Tourneo's advanced connectivity, sleek design, and luxurious features make it an appealing choice in the multi-activity vehicle market, remarked Doreen Mashinini, General Manager of Marketing at Ford South Africa, in the vehicles press release. Ford South Africa took the concept of multi-activity seriously during the vehicles launch in September.
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, we were welcomed by a striking fleet of luxury MPVs, with more seats available than media attendees for the final leg, ensuring ample space even in the eight-seater models.
Spending time in the back row was a priority for our trio of drivers as we journeyed up the West Coast. Our first stop was Route 27 for coffee and some delicious roosterkoek. Over the two-day adventure, we found ourselves eating as much as driving, perfectly embodying the lifestyle envisioned for Tourneo owners hitting the road, exploring new spots, and enjoying meals with family. Next, we continued to Veldriff, where I had my first taste of bokkoms before taking my turn at the wheel.
The Tourneo and similar vehicles are designed with passenger comfort in mind, yet the driving experience is impressively refined. The 2.0L SiT diesel engine in the Tourneo Trend offers 100kW of power at 3 500 r/min and delivers 360Nm of torque between 1 750 and 2 500 r/min. The new eight-speed automatic transmission provides smooth power delivery to the front wheels, making the Tourneo responsive and surprisingly powerful.
