The Next Big Step For Myciti Is Khayelitsha And Mitchells Plain

The MyCiTi public transport system has announced the commencement of Phase 2A, a multi-year project which intends to extend the bus service from Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain to Wynberg and Claremont.

The City of Cape Town has announced that construction for MyCiTi infrastructure will commence in Khayelitsha as soon as March 2025.

The decision falls in line with the long-term goal of linking commuters from Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain to the areas of Wynberg and Claremont.

It forms part of the Citys vision to connect all residents to work, school, service and leisure opportunities through integrated, quality public transport that will benefit generations to come, and is funded by national government and City rates.

Main routes will operate via Govan Mbeki Road and form the foundation of the services.
