The Joslin Smith Disappearance Case Pre-trial Hearing To Start

The pre-trial hearing in the case of the disappearance of six-year-old Joslin Smit is expected to get underway in the High Court in Cape Town today.

The girls mother Kelly Smith, her boyfriend Jacquin Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn face charges of kidnapping and human trafficking.

Smith reported her daughter missing in the Middelpos informal settlement in Saldanha Bay in February last year.

She had told police that Joslin had been left in the care of Appollis while she was at work. Extensive police and community searches yielded no results. All the accused remain in custody.
