Tau Returns To Bafana Fold For Fifa World Cup Qualifiers

Prolific striker Percy Tau has been named in Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos's 37-player preliminary squad for this month's 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Bafana take on Lesotho in Polokwane 21 March and Benin in Cote d'Ivoire 25 March in their World Cup qualifiers in Group C this month.

It'll be the first action for Broos' side since November when they defeated South Sudan 3-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The South African Football Association SAFA confirmed that the preliminary squad will be trimmed to 23 players in the coming days for the two upcoming matches.

Tau, who recently signed with Qatar SC, last played for Bafana in last year's World Cup qualifying match against a 1-1 drawn match against Nigeria in June.
