Swiss's Weighty Problem

SWISS is to install lead plates on certain aircraft, as the airlines new heavy first-class seats are upsetting the trim of the aircraft.

They will be installed from winter 2025, according to Swissinfo.ch .

SWISS spokesperson, Meike Fuhlrott , said the trend to give passengers in business- and first-class more privacy, was making the seats heavier. With economy seats becoming lighter, it was leading to a shift in the aircrafts centre of gravity.
