Swimmers To Raise Funds For Humanitarian Aid In Palestine

Headed by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign PSC and the humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers GOTG, 12 swimmers will participate in a relay swim from Robben Island to Bloubergstrand to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Palestine on 27 April 2025.

On this day, South Africa will be celebrating 31 years of democracy. As we do so, we remember that achieving democracy did not come without the solidarity of peace, justice, and freedom-loving friends and activists around the world, said the PSC.

As the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, we are all too aware that we now must pay this forward through supporting our compatriots in Palestine, as they too strive towards democracy, said the PSC.

According to the PSC, three teams of four swimmers each will set off from Robben Island, braving the icy waters of Table Bay, to swim from the island to Bloubergstrand.

Supporters are encouraged to show their solidarity by joining the swimmers at Big Bay on the day and by pledging a donation.
