The two suspects arrested in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of a German tourist in Graskop in Mpumalanga, are to appear at the Pilgrims Rest Magistrates court tomorrow.
The victim was attacked and kidnapped shortly after withdrawing cash at an ATM yesterday. The suspects were arrested after police received a tip-off from a community member.
Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism COO, Linda Grimbeek welcomed the arrest.
"We have really made good progress in terms of arrests, investigations and arrests, during the last few months after the rollout of integrated security plan for the region. So, Im very, very happy to see that yet another arrest has been made. And yes, in terms of safety, there is an integrated programme where we have deployed a lot of cameras as well as investigators. That is working closely with the police to effect these arrests.
